Venn Group are supporting a London based University with the recruitment of a Procurement Officer.

The post holder will support the Procurement Manager and University in achieving best value and cost effectiveness through whole life contract management, delivering service and quality from the most suitable suppliers.

Job Profile:

  • Assist in drafting of specifications and tender documentation
  • Publish contract opportunities on e-tendering portal and on Find a Tender and Contracts Finder
  • Assist in evaluation of Standard Selection Questionnaire (SQ) and tender submissions
  • Assist, and on occasion lead, in the tender return process and tender exercises using In-Tend software, as directed by the Procurement Manager
  • Assist in the debrief process, in-line with public sector and College obligations and policy
  • Regularly undertake due diligence checks on new suppliers and setup new suppliers on Business World
  • Support the Procurement Manager with implementation of a category management approach to all non-pay spend
  • Undertake analysis of spend data, as required
  • Prepare tender award reports and assist with the preparation of external procurement returns and reporting

Person Specification:

  • Good understanding of public sector procurement Essential
  • Knowledge of public contract regulations (PCR) 2015 and practical application within a Higher Education environment Desirable
  • Excellent IT skills, competent in the use of MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook Essential
  • Self-motivated with the ability to plan and prioritise workload effectively, balancing deadlines Essential
  • Experience of successful tendering at above PCR thresholds and smaller value contracts Essential

Annual salary equivalent: £37,143 - £42,365

Working hours: Full-Time 52 weeks, 35 hours per week

Contract length: 4 months

Location: London, Onsite 2 days per week
