Are you a Procurement Policy Manager with experience of Public Sector Procurement who is keen to embark on a new challenge?

As a Procurement Policy Manager, you'll play a crucial role in crafting our organisation's future. Your responsibilities include developing a strong procurement policy framework that not only meets compliance standards but also caters to the diverse needs of our customers. This position is predominantly home based, with an expectation to attend meetings at our Salford or Leeds office two/ three time per month.

What you'll be doing:

  • Lead the support for the implementation of new Procurement Regulations in 2023/24.
  • Stay current with relevant regulations, laws, spend controls, and business conditions, maintaining a vigilant approach to changes that may impact procurement strategies.
  • Present a strategic action plan based on the findings of the impact assessment, outlining specific steps for improvement.
  • Facilitate briefings or training sessions to make sure a detailed understanding of the updated policies and their impact.
  • Collaborate with Group legal colleagues to develop and implement a rolling program of legal training for collaborators, ensuring colleagues remain up to date on legislation, emerging case law, and legal standard methodologies.
  • Develop and deliver training initiatives focused on tendering practices within the NHS environment, with a specific emphasis on Cabinet Office spend controls.

What you’ll bring:

  • Detailed and up to date knowledge of policy relating to UK public sector procurement which has been acquired through work experience.
  • A good understanding of the legislation relating to UK public sector procurement (PCR2015 & New Procurement Act 2023/ 2024).
  • Experience of working within a UK public sector procurement team.
  • Experience of dealing with UK public sector procurement policy.
  • Experience of delivering training and speaking publicly to a large audience.
  • Track record of meeting urgent requirements whilst handling conflicting pressures and delivering a flexible and adaptable service.

It would be great if you had:

  • Chartered Institute of Procurement & Supply (CIPS) qualified.
  • Project Management qualifications or experience.
  • Established networks across the public sector including the policy teams in government and DHSC.

Salary: Up to £55,000 per annum (Depending upon experience and development needs)
