Exciting Opportunity: Procurement Specialist
We are seeking an experienced Procurement Specialist specialising in software and services to join a leading global engineering, construction, and services company.
Pay Rate: Approximately £45 - £50 per hour PAYE
- Full Time: 40 hours per week
- Location: Hybrid - based in Warrington & working from home
- Contract: 6 months initially
- Start date: ASAP
The Procurement Specialist role involves:
- Strategize and Innovate: Develop and implement cutting-edge procurement strategies, plans, and dashboards that drive efficiency and effectiveness.
- Bridge the Gaps: Ensure seamless communication between procurement, project management, digital delivery team, suppliers, the corporate departments (Legal, Accounts, etc.), and the Client.
- Lead the Process: Manage the procurement process and supply chain for assigned tasks, ensuring top-notch compliance with policies, systems, procedures, and contract requirements.
- Build Relationships: Foster strong working relationships with the stakeholders, digital delivery team, the client, and the supply chain.
- Challenge and Improve: Identify procurement needs and challenge incomplete or non-conforming forms and authorisations.
- End-to-End Excellence: Oversee the entire procurement process, including:
- Preparing and issuing NDAs, DGQs, ITNs, and ITT packages.
- Conducting competitive bid analysis and leading clarification meetings.
- Preparing and issuing Contract Notifications and comprehensive reports and justifications.
- Assisting with placing Purchase Orders through the corporate purchasing system.
- Attending contract kick-off/pre-production meetings to ensure smooth project initiation.
- Leading contract handover meetings with the commercial team.
- Be a Team Player: Provide vital support for the procurement teams as needed, ensuring no task is too big or too small.
Successful Procurement Specialist will have / be:
MCIPS/RICS accredited (or in progress)
5+ years in contracts, ideally in ICT and software procurement
Skilled at managing relationships at all organisational levels
Strong negotiation and diplomacy skills, capable of making sound business case recommendations
Well-organised, able to prioritize and manage conflicting priorities effectively
Effective both independently and as a team player, within a multi-discipline team
Proficient in MS Office 365, SharePoint, MS Teams, etc.
Well versed with computerised purchasing systems.
