Our client is a well-established, expanding designer & Manufacturer of architectural light fittings and is seeking an experienced, practical Product Designer with ideally 1-2 years + lighting industry experience to assist in this next phase of growth
As an industry professional with knowledge of LEDs, drivers, power supplies and emerging technology (+ lighting standards) you will use your combination of a creative/ engineering background to design, develop and create innovative lighting products of the future as well as enhancing the existing portfolio. Awareness of market trends, market needs and commercial viability are essential in any NPD as well as offering technical support to the sales and production teams including liaison with customers consisting of architects & designers.
This career opportunity represents a key role within the business; you will be working within a design team and will be expected to add-value offering creative flair, engineering solutions and full industry compliance. To join this vibrant and dynamic business you will need to be ambitious, keen to have an impact where the time from design to market can be very short. The ideal candidate will be experienced in manufacturing processes; designing architectural lighting products or from a similar manufacturing sector - ideally IP rated products; experienced in NPD and getting a product to market; R&D and compliance testing; competent in Solidworks & PDM, Photometric and design software - together with a 'can do’ attitude and engaging personality. Location: South East London/ inner M25
