Role Overview: The Designer in the new growth team will be dedicated to identifying new growth opportunities and rigorously testing hypotheses to validate their potential.
Reporting into the Lead Product Designer, you’ll be part of a diverse design team, helping to shape the design culture and ensure the rest of the product design team is kept in the loop with what is happening across your business area.
Day to day, you will work closely with the Director of Strategy and Product Manager to design and execute experiments that validate strategic opportunities with minimal investment, while considering the future implications on our existing products.
The ideal candidate will be comfortable across the full end-to-end of the design process - you’ll have demonstrable experience conducting research through to executing beautifully crafted UI. have a strong experimental mindset, experience in rapid prototyping, and will have taken products from 0-1.
Day-to-day Responsibilities:
Work closely with the Director of Strategy and Product Manager to identify new growth opportunities and design experiments to validate these strategies. You’ll mostly be working with external engineers and agencies to bring these ideas to fruition, so you’ll need strong collaboration and communication skills to make this work
Conduct user research and gather data to gain insights and validate assumptions, ensuring that designs meet user needs and preferences, as well as align with our business goals
Create innovative product designs and rapid prototypes to test hypotheses and gather user feedback. Develop and execute growth experiments, focusing on learning just enough to make informed decisions for the next steps
Continuously iterate on designs based on experimental results and user feedback, striving for optimal solutions
Lead and drive innovation initiatives forward, while utilising design system elements where possible and considering the future impact on existing products and systems
Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including engineering, marketing, and commercial, to ensure successful product development and launch
Effectively communicate design concepts and ideas and progress to internal and external stakeholders with your exceptional storytelling to gain buy-in and support
Keep up-to-date with industry trends, emerging technologies, and best practices in product design and innovation
Experience required:
Minimum 5+ years of experience working in-house within cross-functional, agile product teams on software products that address complex user needs
A portfolio showcasing your strategy and process, not just the final solution. Some of the things we look for in case studies include: A deep understanding of the problem space, a pragmatic design approach with strong hypotheses and clear measures of success on top of the final execution
Designing for and building high-performing native apps (iOS or Android) and responsive web designs
Consuming from and contributing to existing design systems, preferably in Figma
Fintech experience is nice to have, but not compulsory
