Our client a world class distributor of Food Ingredients is seeking an experienced Product Manager to be at the centre of their operation, managing products, sales team and the operation, contributing to the further growth of the business. The Key Accountabilities will be:
- Managing $10-$15 million of products per annum, with the expectation of growing this to $25-$30 million.
- Profit & Losses responsibility for the managed products/catergory
- Create a strategic market view of the product and category
- Monitor contract balances on supplier and customer side
- Update monthly market pricing in FBSS accordingly
- Regular look at the FBSS inbox to approve new contracts or So releases.
- Quote directly to sales for own products and secondary support products, so it where applicable.
- Manage stock positions in the various locations.
- Manage stock limits
- Push for projects and assist with quoting and sampling those nominating products
- Liaise with Logistics department to make sure allocations, Export Shipments, and Imports are done on time and correctly considering the aged inventory as a priority.
- Support Sales Manager and Customer Service for quotations and tenders
- Develop new business through new suppliers/producers/products and lead qualifications.
- Collaborate with the Commercial and Quality teams in developing new products, with ingredients that have been identified as complementary to their portfolio.
- Monitoring Shipments, liaising with the origin, on pending POs
- Update market prices to the sales team.
- Liaise with Quality on Customer requests and non-conformances management
- Work with the Marketing team to research products, regions, or brands.
- Research companies/products or information on the internet
- Develop business on the products, including acquiring/managing customers.
The successful candidate will have experience with Food Ingredients distribution, ideally with exposure to Proteins, Acidulants and/or Hydrocolloids. Knowledge of the Asian/China market and not afraid to take the initiative and be proactive to get things done. Must be willing to travel for work trips. This is a hybrid position and although the role is based in London, candidates anywhere in the UK will be considered for remote working.
