Randstad are recruiting for a Test & Validation Engineer for a client based in Bristol. They are a rapidly growing company that specialise in designing and manufacturing high pressure hydraulic components and systems predominantly for the Automotive and Aerospace sectors.

The successful candidate will have a bias towards mechanical engineering and will be a collaborative and proactive individual who is looking to take ownership of tasks, run test rigs, interpret data, develop new tests, and contribute towards the company's ongoing growth by becoming a subject matter expert in testing of the products and systems.

Typical responsibilities and activities include:

  • Building and testing our products and systems
  • Setting up and running test rigs and software
  • Thinking about and discussing how to test new products
  • Analysing results and drawing conclusions
  • Collaborating with design, electronics, and software engineers
  • Presenting testing updates in team meetings

Essential Requirements

  • Degree in Mechanical Engineering (or similar STEM field)
  • Excellent problem-solving ability and ability to apply engineering principles
  • Good practical ability, and understanding of experiment/test design
  • Digital literacy
  • Good verbal and written communication skills

Beneficial Requirements

  • Coding ability (particularly Python for data acquisition and analysis)
  • Electronics knowledge/interest
  • Knowledge of metal 3D printing and/or CNC machining
  • Familiar with hydraulic systems and circuit design
  • Workshop skills (hand tools, power tools, machine tools)

This is a full time permanent position with a salary of £27,000-£35,000 depending on experience, flexible start and finish times and a 9 day working fortnight, so you would have every other Friday off as well.

The role is fully on site and will be based at our client's production facility just outside of Bristol.
