Reporting to the General Manager, ESS Employment are seeking a dynamic, disciplined and results-driven individual with strong food production management experience at a BRC accredited site, with system production equipment and automated freezing and packing. You will have a proven record of developing teams, have experience in nurturing and delivering continuous improvement and understand planning and stock management systems.

You will be forward thinking in your outlook and be prepared to lead from the front as a role model for the business on behaviours and quality culture. The role will on occasions require someone who can work autonomously and be confident enough to ensure the production facility is running efficiently and to the required standards whilst the General Manager is off site.

Ideally, you will also be trained in first aid and as a fork-lift driver, although this training can be given.

This is a 'hands-on’ physical role that will develop as the business grows into a world class facility with a focus on excellence in environmental management.

Responsibilities:

  • Manage the full production process - goods in, weighing, mixing, forming, packing, metal detection and dispatch of our foods - in compliance with SWIs
  • Make sure all start-up, production and cleaning paperwork is completed daily and handed into the office at the end of every shift
  • Manage the facility and production team so that they are Always Audit Ready to BRCGS quality and safety standards
  • Manage the safety of all workers and visitors through thorough implementation of H&S procedures and risk assessments of all activities
  • Operate and undertake basic maintenance of machinery used to make the products
  • Ensure compliance with GMP and liaise with the Technical Manager to complete all audit actions
  • Work with the Training and Quality Program Lead to develop staff, including performance management, absence management, training and development and succession planning.
  • Work with the Operations Exec to ensure all raw materials are in stock when needed
  • Loading and unloading of vehicles on site
