Production Operative / Hand Sanding / Waxing

Job Description: We are seeking an experienced Hand Sanding and Waxing Specialist to join our clients team in Jarrow. The successful candidate will play a crucial role in ensuring highest standards of quality and finish. This position requires a keen eye for detail and excellent manual dexterity.

Key Responsibilities:

• Perform hand sanding on various types of wooden product to prepare surfaces for finishing.
• Apply wax and other finishes to pieces, ensuring an even and high-quality finish.
• Inspect finished products to ensure they meet company standards for quality and craftsmanship.
• Collaborate with other team members to achieve production goals and maintain workflow efficiency.
• Maintain a clean and organised work area, ensuring all tools and materials are properly stored.
• Follow all safety procedures and guidelines to ensure a safe working environment.

Requirements:

• Proven experience in hand sanding and waxing.
• Strong attention to detail and a commitment to producing high-quality work.
• Excellent hand-eye coordination and manual dexterity.
• Knowledge of different wood types and their finishing requirements.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Good communication skills and the ability to follow detailed instructions.
• Physical stamina and the ability to stand for extended periods and handle heavy materials.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Previous experience in a woodworking or manufacturing environment.
• Familiarity with other woodworking techniques and tools.
• Basic understanding of health and safety regulations related to woodworking.

This is a 6 month fix term contract which will go permanent for the right candidate.
