Production Operative

Location - Aylesford

Salary - £12.00 per hour

Hours - 40 hrs per week, Usual shifts are, Monday - Friday, from 6 am - 3 pm

Our client, an established 5th generation family-run business is looking to recruit a production operative to join their collaborative and hard-working team. Our client operates at the top end of their field, producing high-quality nutrition for livestock.

Usual shifts are Monday - Friday, from 6 am - 3 pm, but some flexibility will be required to cover busy periods on a rota-based system.

Full training and support for all the below tasks will be given

As an average day in the life of the Production Operative:

  • To supervise the intake of bulk raw materials
  • Approval and testing of raw materials
  • Prepare raw materials for manufacture, fill tote bins, assemble hand-tip ingredients
  • To ensure that all raw materials used in production are of satisfactory quality
  • Ensure the production process is carried out following all procedures & systems and be involved in a process of continual improvement
  • Operate all the mills' control panels for all mill machinery and grain store
  • Maintain production records accurately on company systems
  • To understand the requirement for regular machinery maintenance
  • To ensure the Company’s Health & Safety Policy and Quality Policy are always adhered to
  • To move raw materials and finished products by forklift truck
  • To ensure all finished product quality is to the required standards
  • Carry out mill cleaning schedules
  • Must be able to follow procedures and instructions and to work at a commercial speed
  • Will be happy working as part of a team and with other areas of the business
  • Is confident to work on their own and take the initiative to solve problems
  • Have a proactive, flexible and adaptable approach to the role
  • Ideally, forklift truck experience/license is desirable
