Location Llantrisant, Rhondda Cynon Taff GB

£36,000 Per annum + Benefits
Full Time Mon-thurs 07:30 - 15:30 / Friday 07:30 - 15:00

Summary

As Production Planner you are tasked with creating and maintaining detailed production plans, coordinating schedules to optimise capacity, and ensuring customer requirements are met. This role involves ensuring the availability of materials and labour, monitoring inventory levels of finished goods, and preparing data reports to meet both internal and external demands.

Duties & Responsibilities:
  • Production Planning:

    • Develop and maintain production plans to meet customer demand while maximising business efficiency.
    • Schedule production lines for various product groups, considering production routing time and material lead time.
    • Ensure timely and controlled issuance of paperwork to production.
  • Coordination and Communication:

    • Interpret system information and cross-reference with production plans.
    • Inform relevant departments promptly about changes to production schedules.
    • Work closely with Production, Purchasing, Logistics, and Engineering Departments to ensure smooth production operations.
  • Monitoring and Reporting:

    • Monitor production performance and provide management with reports and efficiency improvement suggestions.
    • Maintain Kanban levels and safety stock for production use.
    • Generate and review daily, weekly, and monthly operating reports.
    • Conduct regular system checks for inventory accuracy and correct anomalies.
  • Material and Inventory Management:

    • Ensure adequate material availability and manage constraint issues.
    • Support parts replenishment, goods inward processes, kitting of work orders, and shipping dispatch.
    • Monitor stock levels to ensure consistent and efficient production.
    • Report on finished goods stock value and organise stock transfers.
  • Quality and Continuous Improvement:

    • Attend meetings to discuss quality constraints and support the processing of rejects and returns.
    • Participate in annual stock counts and system investigations to manage stock integrity.
    • Support New Product Introductions (NPIs), End-of-Life (EOL) products, and product transfers.
    • Maintain and support Planning Department KPIs and drive continuous improvements.
    • Enforce Lean principles and drive better practices and performance.
Essential Skills, Experience & Qualifications:
  • Educational Background:

    • Degree in a relevant supply chain discipline or equivalent experience in a manufacturing planning environment.
  • Professional Experience:

    • Proven experience in planning and demand forecasting within a manufacturing setting.
    • Strong analytical skills with proficiency in data analysis and forecasting tools (e.g., Excel, ERP systems, demand planning software).
  • Technical Proficiency:

    • Strong SAP ECC/ERP and APO skills, with experience in planning, purchasing, and production.
  • Soft Skills:

    • Ability to prioritise and manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
    • Excellent numeracy and literacy skills.
    • Effective teamwork and collaboration skills.
    • Strong communication skills to work effectively across multiple teams.
