Our client are specialists in their market sector, they are looking for an experienced Production Supervisor to join them on a permanent basis.

The Job you’ll do

  • The Production Supervisor will lead and co-ordinate activities on designated flow lines to ensure the company’s and departments business objectives in terms of cost, service, delivery, and safety.
  • They will direct and co-ordinate activities of the operations flowlines to obtain optimum use of equipment, facilities, and personnel.
  • The Production Supervisor will ensure compliance to the organisations policies, procedures, safety rules and regulations.

  • Lead and motivate team on designated flow lines to ensure delivery of KPI’s in safety, cost, quality, and delivery.
  • Ensure that flowline personnel are fully utilised at all times.
  • Monitor and direct activities towards waste reduction in:
  • Scrap and rework.
  • Stock inventory (raw material and WIP).
  • Assembly process times.
  • Actively identify and participate in change initiatives to increase productivity.
  • Facilitate and organise continuous improvement initiatives/programs within the department using modern manufacturing procedures (Cellular Manufacturing, Kanban, Genba Kanri, Process Analysis).
  • Manage individuals’ performance, carry out OFM’s, identify development opportunities and implement the disciplinary procedure where necessary.
  • Prompt investigation into quality, safety and productivity issues and implementation of corrective actions to prevent a re-occurrence.
  • Ensure a high standard of housekeeping is maintained throughout the flowline(s).
  • Communicate all issues (quality, people, safety, production) to Product Line Manager and support functions in a timely manner.
  • Ensure health and safety regulations are implemented and adhered too.
  • Maintain and update records (COPQ, OEE etc) as required and completion of weekly report.
  • Maintenance of all visual management displays within the flowline(s).
  • Comply with the Integrated Management System (IMS) and minimise any impact on the environment whilst carrying out their duties.
  • Ensure and promote safe working conditions for all employees, visitors and contractors by implementing, monitoring and complying with occupational health & safety provisions.

About You

  • Two years minimum related experience or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Skilled influencer to motivate direct reports in the attainment of departmental objectives.
  • Capability to effectively communicate and record information in a practical manner i.e.: setting meeting agendas, recording actions, and summarising data for management as required.
  • PC literate and familiar with Microsoft Office suite and ERP systems such as SAP.
  • Capable of learning other software packages as required.
  • Ability to adapt communication style effectively and concisely to suit audience.
  • Demonstrated strong network building capability to ensure appropriate support received from interfacing business functions.
