A global engineering business require a Project Buyer. Applicants need project, sub-contract or high-level operational purchasing experience within an engineering, infrastructure or manufacturing business. ERP/MRP literacy is preferred.

The Project Buyer will join a large and forward-thinking procurement function. Working closely with a team of Buyer and Senior Buyers, the Project Buyer will source across both materials and services in support of project procurement activity. The business are looking for an aspirational procurement professional, who wants to drive change and explore a progressive career within procurement.

Specific duties of the Project Buyer include:

  • Support project procurement and day-to-day operational purchasing tasks
  • Develop supply chain relationships in conjunction with strategic procurement, engineering and operations
  • Stakeholder engagement with Project Managers
  • Drive continuous improvement form the supplier base and deliver cost reductions
  • Manage suppliers via KPIs
  • Contribute to an atmosphere of change and process improvement

Project Buyer applicants should meet the following criteria:

  • Buyer, purchasing or procurement experience within a project focused, engineering or manufacturing business
  • Comfortable with a blend of operational, project and strategic procurement activities
  • Experience with stakeholders across Engineering and Project Management
  • Familiarity with ERP or MRP
  • Degree, CIPS or part-CIPS is preferred
