Job Title: Project Planner x2 with Nuclear Experience

Location: North West, England

Employment Type: Contract (Inside IR35)

Job Summary: We are seeking 2 experienced Project Planners of a senior level with extensive nuclear industry experience to join a new clients dynamic team. The successful candidates will be responsible for planning, scheduling, and coordinating activities across two nuclear sites. This role requires a deep understanding of nuclear regulations, safety standards, and project management principles.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Project Planning and Scheduling:

    • Develop, maintain, and update project schedules using industry-standard software (e.g., Primavera P6, MS Project).
    • Coordinate with project managers, engineers, and other stakeholders to ensure project milestones are achieved on time.
    • Monitor project progress and identify potential delays or issues. Implement corrective actions as needed.
  2. Resource Management:

    • Allocate resources effectively to ensure optimal utilisation across both sites.
    • Collaborate with procurement and logistics teams to ensure timely availability of materials and equipment.
  3. Risk Management:

    • Identify and assess project risks. Develop risk mitigation plans and strategies.
    • Monitor and report on risk status throughout the project life-cycle.
  4. Stakeholder Communication:

    • Prepare and present regular progress reports to senior management and clients.
    • Facilitate communication between project teams at both sites to ensure alignment and coordination.
  5. Compliance and Documentation:

    • Ensure all project activities comply with nuclear safety regulations and industry standards.
    • Maintain accurate project documentation, including schedules, risk assessments, and progress reports.
  6. Continuous Improvement:

    • Participate in post-project reviews to identify lessons learned and areas for improvement.
    • Implement best practices and innovative solutions to enhance project planning processes.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Project Management, or related field.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in project planning within the nuclear industry.
  • Proficiency in project management software (e.g., Primavera P6, MS Project).
  • Strong understanding of nuclear regulations, safety standards, and industry best practices.
  • Excellent analytic, organisational, and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with diverse teams.
  • Certification in Project Management (PMP, PMI-SP) is highly desirable.
  • SC Clearance is not essential but is highly desirable.

Preferred Experience:

  • Experience working within a Nuclear environment.
  • Familiarity with Earned Value Management (EVM) and other performance measurement techniques.
  • Knowledge of Lean and Agile project management methodologies.

Working Conditions:

  • The role requires occasional travel between the two nuclear sites.
  • Ability to work in a high-pressure environment and meet tight deadlines.
  • Adherence to strict safety protocols and guidelines.
