We have a great new opportunity for a Projects Manager(major works focused) to join our Property Services Compliance Team working from our modern head office in Basingstoke on an initial 6 months fixed term basis.

The role

Reporting into the Technical Services Operations Director, you'll lead specialised Project Delivery Managers/Quantity Surveyors leading a large team of Contractors, Sub-Contractors and Consultants on the specialised work types and activities mainly around Major Works projects.

You'll ensure that all works are undertaken in a competent and safe manner with our customers at the centre of everything we do and ensure that SNG meets its commitments, monitors its performance and evidences its delivery relating to all its Regulatory and legislative obligations.

You'll also promote a positive collaborative culture of Building Safety and Compliance, taking personal responsibility for escalating any concerns to the Building Safety & Compliance Team for consideration and/or investigation.

What you'll need

To be successful in this role you will need:

  • Experience and knowledge of leading a team in delivering complex compliance/safetyprojects, with a high knowledge of compliance requirements
  • Advanced experience of managing a multi-disciplinary Specialised Project Services team in a large and complex Housing Association
  • Excellent demonstratable knowledge of programme development and performance improvement in a social housing environment
  • Ability to plan, track and forecast income and expenditure against relevant budgets, to deliver a value for money service whilst taking actions to mitigate any risks to SNG
  • Ability to operate with commercial acumen
  • Evidence of delivering on innovative concepts, utilising future changes in policy to support flexibility in a responsive organisation 
  • Ability to inspire, support and develop others to optimise their performance
  • Possess strong people skills and an effective communicator, able to influence and challenge
  • Evidence of excellent customer service achievements in a complex delivery environment
  • Proficient use of Microsoft office suite with Intermediate or advanced Excel skills

There will be some travel involved with this role so you should be happy to travel, have access to a vehicle and a full UK driving licence.
