Property Maintenance Technician

Location: Middlesbrough

Salary: Up to £23,676 Per Annum

Hours: Monday - Friday, 37 hours per week

Annual Leave: 30 Per Annum plus statutory Bank Holidays

Pension: NEST Pension Scheme

Job Purpose:

To provide a comprehensive property maintenance service all college buildings.

Key Responsibilities

  • To undertake general site maintenance work on College premises including minor works repairs, and fault finding.
  • Assist maintenance trades as allocated by the engineering coordinator
  • Carry out general maintenance requests from the helpdesk
  • Carry out PPM work sheets
  • Carry out projects as requested
  • Carry out manual handling tasks
  • Assist Grounds team on occasions
  • Assist in construction of access equipment
  • Collect materials from suppliers as required using the maintenance van
  • Carry out minor works repairs within scope of competence
  • Assist in maintaining school buildings and grounds in excellent condition.
  • Maintain a high standard of safety, cleanliness, and efficiency in all maintenance and repair projects.
  • Perform preventive maintenance, repair, and installation in connection with: electrical, plumbing, and HVAC systems and exterior and interior of buildings.
  • Move equipment and materials within and between school buildings.
  • Understand and be able to evaluate RAMS for works within areas of competence
  • Undertake appropriate minor multi trade duties to facilitate efficient completion of tasks.
  • Ensure accurate and timely completion of all paperwork including job tickets and associated documentation.

Requirements

  • Level 2 Property maintenance Apprenticeship or equivalent
  • Able to use IT systems such as MS365, given the appropriate training
  • Ability to appropriately respond to emergency situations to ensure prompt and appropriate care is administered and safety is maintained.
  • Able to work off height access equipment
  • Minimum 2 years Industrial experience
