ROLE PURPOSE:
The job holder is responsible for delivering high-quality technical processing and support for Proportional Treaty Reinsurance business. They will manage the administration and technical handling of treaty reinsurance contracts, ensuring that all documentation, premium, claims and servicing requirements are met in accordance with internal policies, regulatory standards, and client expectations. The role works closely with brokers, clients, and reinsurers to deliver a comprehensive and efficient service.

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES:
Planning / Reporting:
* Support the delivery of agreed operational plans and priorities, working with senior team members and brokers.
* Contribute to team and departmental projects as required, offering subject matter expertise on proportional treaty business.
* Provide timely and accurate technical input to internal reporting processes.

Technical:
* Assist in the creation, review and processing of treaty slips, endorsements, wordings, debit/credit notes, and supporting documents.
* Prepare, reconcile, and process premium and claims bordereaux accurately and within agreed timeframes.
* Support the calculation of treaty features such as profit commissions, loss participation, adjustments and reserves.
* Ensure accurate technical data entry into all relevant systems and records (e.g., Brokasure, Global XB, etc.).
* Liaise with clients, reinsurers, and internal stakeholders to clarify technical instructions and resolve queries.
* Keep informed of regulatory and market changes impacting the job role, and adjust practices accordingly.
* Ensure all documentation and entries are maintained and filed accurately to support audits and compliance checks.

* Follow all relevant technical and operational procedures to ensure compliance with internal controls and regulatory obligations.
* Maintain familiarity with the Operating Procedures Manual and contribute to improvements and updates where appropriate.
* Accurately interpret and apply instructions relating to technical transactions and treaty servicing.

* Build and maintain strong working relationships with brokers, reinsurers, and internal departments.
* Ensure transparency and accuracy in all technical transactions and communications.
* Respond promptly and professionally to client and market enquiries, both internal and external.
* Support client renewals and mid-term adjustments, ensuring all relevant documentation and data is complete and accurate.
* Act in a fair and ethical manner in all dealings with clients, reinsurers, and colleagues.

Regulatory & Compliance:
* Operate in line with all legal, regulatory and compliance requirements relevant to reinsurance business.
* Ensure that all work is completed in accordance with Group policies and internal governance standards.
* Complete required compliance training and maintain competence to carry out responsibilities effectively.
* Maintain accurate and timely records to support transparency and audit readiness.
* Uphold professional standards and adhere to the Group's Employee Code of Conduct.

PERSON SPECIFICATION:
Knowledge / Experience:
* Previous experience (typically 5+ years) in a technical treaty reinsurance role within the London or Lloyd's market.
* Strong understanding of Proportional Treaty Reinsurance, including accounting treatments and bordereaux management.
* Familiarity with technical documentation, wordings, premium calculations, and claims processing.
* Competent knowledge of FCA and Lloyd's regulatory standards.
* Working knowledge of market systems (e.g., Xchanging, Brokasure, Global XB, IRIS).

Qualifications:
* A-level Grade A-C (or equivalent) minimum.
* GCSE Maths and English (or equivalent) required.
* Progress toward professional qualifications (e.g., CII) is desirable but not essential.
