Butler Rose are currently seeking to recruit a Part-Time Senior Finance Assistant to join a growing SME. The successful candidate will work closely with the Finance Manager to cover the accounts' function and handle some operational duties, including overseeing HR tasks.

The ideal candidate will have strong attention to detail, excellent organisational skills, and the ability to work independently.

This position requires working across five days a week, with one day working from home (WFH), totalling 25 hours per week. Flexible start times are available.

Key Responsibilities:

Record day-to-day financial transactions and complete the posting process.
Verify that transactions are recorded in the correct day book, supplier's ledger, customer ledger, and general ledger.
Bring the books to the trial balance stage.
Perform partial checks of the posting process.
VAT returns
Enter data, maintain records, and create reports
Process accounts receivable/payable
Reconcile bank accounts and other financial accounts.
Assist with month-end and year-end closing processes.
Maintain and balance subsidiary accounts by verifying, allocating, and posting transactions.
Prepare and submit weekly/monthly reports as needed.

Qualifications:

Proven experience within accounts or finance
Solid understanding of basic bookkeeping and accounting principles.
Proficiency in MS Office, particularly Excel familiarity with accounting software such as QuickBooks or Xero is a plus.
High degree of accuracy and attention to detail.
Excellent organisational and time-management skills.
Ability to handle sensitive, confidential information.
Strong communication skills.
Ability to work independently and meet deadlines.
