The Role: Engineering Sustainable Solutions for the Future

We are looking for a highly skilled Public Health Engineer to deliver cutting-edge, sustainable solutions in water, sanitation, and drainage systems. Working within our Environmental Engineering Group, you will play a vital role in the design, coordination, and execution of innovative public health systems across our global projects.

Your Impact

  • Innovative Design - Develop and implement advanced public health engineering solutions, from sustainable drainage systems to complex plumbing and sanitation designs.
  • Seamless Integration - Work closely with architects, structural engineers, and sustainability teams to integrate public health systems into some of the world’s most prestigious projects.
  • Technical Excellence - Ensure designs meet all relevant building codes, sustainability goals, and performance requirements.
  • Collaboration & Leadership - Support project teams, mentor junior engineers, and engage with clients and external consultants to deliver exceptional results.
  • Continuous Innovation - Leverage the latest technologies and methodologies to enhance efficiency, sustainability, and functionality in public health engineering.

What We’re Looking For

Technical Expertise:

  • Strong technical engineering skills with a proven track record in public health engineering design.
  • Proficiency in design software such as Hevacomp, MicroDrainage, Bentley Mechanical, and Revit.
  • In-depth knowledge of industry standards including CIBSE, British Standards, ISO, BSRIA, and CIPHE.
  • Experience working in an engineering consultancy or a multidisciplinary design environment.

Leadership & Collaboration:

  • Ability to coordinate with architects, structural engineers, and other design professionals at Foster + Partners.
  • Strong communication and presentation skills, with the ability to engage both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Experience mentoring and supporting junior engineers.

Qualifications & Experience:

  • Degree in Mechanical, Environmental, or Building Services Engineering (or equivalent).
  • Working towards Chartered status with a UK engineering institution.
  • A passion for sustainable design and forward-thinking engineering solutions.
