Role Synopsis:

BP Solutions partners with key bp businesses to bring differential solutions to its internal customers. BP solutions already provides groundbreaking technology solutions to frontline operations.

The role holder will bring a deep understanding of the Puls8 tool, how to apply and deploy it efficiently and effectively, leading to improved safety performance across relevant bp assets. Continuous improvement skills will further expand the range of opportunities for using and improving Puls8 across bp.

Key skills include technical design, R&D management, project delivery and change management strategies to ensure the transformation strategy, plan, milestones and execution are adhered to during deployment of the tool. As a thought leader within the bp solutions team, you will work closely with senior business and Production, Refining and Technology leaders to support the roll-out of the Puls8 Technology, execution of its Product Roadmap and measurement of its impact on the safety of some of bp’s critical front-line operations. You will play a key role in innovation leadership in the application and development of the Puls8 Technology and tool, and in other technologies with bp colleagues, providing advocacy for front line innovation to improve bp’s safety performance globally.

The role will be based in Aberdeen, UK, reporting to Project Operations Manager – Refining Europe, P&O BP Solutions – Operations

What you’ll be doing:

  • Seeing opportunities for applying and deploying the existing Puls8 tool and technology to the bp asset portfolio, and working with relevant partners to prioritise these
  • Producing training materials and where appropriate delivering training to front line operatives so they can use the Puls8 technology to improve regional safety standard
  • Manage the supplier relationship with technology partners to deliver the initial and subsequent upgrades and evolutions of the Puls8 tool
  • This will include working with internal stakeholders to identify use cases for the Puls8 technology, evaluate these and present them with full project evaluation for peer review, and as appropriate develop patent applications to protect bp’s IP
  • Develop appropriate performance metrics, benchmark current performance and measure improvements attributable to the Puls8 technology
  • Identifying related and ancillary opportunities to use technology to improve bp’s safety performance
  • Working with colleagues in bp solutions to devise new or improved solutions to improve bp’s safety performance overall
  • Embed Ai in bp’s safety technology toolkit

  • Show excellent communication and interpersonal skills to interact confidently with senior leaders and employee populations both internally and externally
  • Possess a global perspective and understanding of bp’s strategy.
