Location: Stansted
Hours: 40 hours per week - Monday to Friday

Salary: up to 32K depending on experience

Role Overview:

We are seeking a meticulous Purchase Ledger Assistant to join our dynamic finance team, experienced in using Sage or similar and accustomed to handling a high volume of invoices (at least 600 invoices per month or more) in a fast-paced environment. This role entails effectively managing the Purchase Ledger Function under the guidance of the Finance Manager. Candidates should showcase strong multitasking abilities and the capability to excel under pressure.

As a Purchase Ledger Assistant, your primary responsibilities and duties includes:

  • Processing invoices, which involves reconciling purchase orders, obtaining invoice approvals, and verifying delivery notes.
  • Managing the monthly BACS payment run.
  • Executing weekly supplier payment runs.
  • Collaborating with relevant departments to allocate cost values to work orders.
  • Conducting monthly reconciliation of supplier statements.
  • Establishing new supplier accounts and ensuring the accuracy of existing account details within the accounting system.
  • Promoting positive relationships with suppliers.
  • Managing the processing of business expense returns.
  • Completing any other duties as necessary.

Skills and Experience:

  • Prior experience in a Purchase Ledger Assistant or finance role.
  • Familiarity with Sage or similar software and proficiency in processing large volumes of invoices (minimum of 600 per month)
  • Ability to challenge current processes and suggest improvements.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong team working abilities.
  • Capable of meeting monthly deadlines.
  • Proficient with IT, particularly intermediate Excel skills.

Desirable:

  • Experience in relevant industries is advantageous but not essential.
