As a Purchase Ledger Clerk you will be responsible for ensuring that supplier accounts are accurate and up to date by processing supplier transactions onto the Navision accounting system, verifying accounts against supplier statements/lists, and resolving any discrepancies.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist the PL Manager in team planning, organisation, and task delegation.
  • Process supplier invoices and credits onto the Navision accounting system.
  • Work with supplier statements or lists to identify omissions and discrepancies.
  • Identify invoice queries and ensure their resolution.
  • Liaise with other internal departments to ensure records are accurate and up to date.
  • Communicate with suppliers via phone or email to resolve differences.
  • Handle supplier returns and ensure credits are processed.
  • Maintain Goods Received Not Invoiced records.
  • Allocate and confirm supplier Direct Debits.
  • Check stock levels and history for stores and warehouses to identify and resolve issues.
  • Create lists of missing bookings and booking queries for stores, ensuring store compliance.
  • Archive records and perform other general administrative duties as needed.
  • Run month-end reports, providing clear notes and explanations.
  • Generate the monthly SA88 report and liaise with the profit and loss department.
  • Perform any other duties as reasonably required.

The Candidate:

  • Experience: Demonstrated bookkeeping expertise.
  • Communication: Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Discipline: Strong self-discipline and organizational prowess.
  • Teamwork: Effective team player with a collaborative spirit.
  • Deadlines: Proven ability to meet monthly deadlines without compromising quality.
  • Technical Skills: Proficient in IT, particularly with Excel and BACS, and eager to leverage technology for efficiency.
