Job Title: Purchase Ledger Clerk (Temporary Position)

Location: Larkfield

Duration: Temporary (3 months with potential for extension)

Hours: Full-time, 37.5 hours per week

Salary: Competitive

Job Description: As a Purchase Ledger Clerk, you will be responsible for managing the purchase ledger function and ensuring the accuracy and efficiency of our financial processes. This temporary position is an excellent opportunity to gain valuable experience in a fast-paced professional environment.

Responsibilities: -

  • Process purchase invoices and credit notes accurately and timely.
  • Reconcile supplier statements to ledger accounts and resolve discrepancies.
  • Prepare payment runs and ensure suppliers are paid in accordance with agreed terms.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date vendor details and account records.
  • Assist with month-end closing procedures and reporting.
  • Handle queries related to accounts payable both internally and from suppliers.
  • Support the finance team with ad hoc tasks as required.

Requirements:

  • Proven experience as a Purchase Ledger Clerk or similar role.
  • Strong understanding of accounts payable processes and general accounting principles.
  • Proficient in MS Office, particularly Excel, and experience with accounting software.
  • Excellent organisational skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • Good communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • AAT qualification or currently studying towards AAT is desirable but not essential.
