Purchasing Administrator 
  • Annual Salary: Up to £27k (negotiable based on experience)

We are seeking a Purchasing Assistant to join our team. The role involves raising purchase orders, managing stock levels, and developing strong supplier relationships to ensure a 98% Next Day delivery KPI is met. This is a purchasing admin role ideal for an organised, confident, and motivated individual who is committed to continuous improvement and exceptional customer service.

Benefits:

  • Standard working hours: 8.45 am - 4.30 pm Mon to Thurs, 8.45 am - 4 pm Friday.
  • 25 days holiday, with mandatory shutdown over the Christmas period.
  • Opportunity to study for CIPS qualification. 
  • Participation in stock taking weekend, usually in July, with the option to be paid or take 4 days holiday the following year.

Day-to-day of the role:
  • Raise purchase orders from multiple suppliers in the UK, Germany, and China, with varying lead times.
  • Verify and update purchase order records with supplier order confirmations.
  • Progress outstanding purchase orders with suppliers and update records accordingly.
  • Optimize stock levels to ensure OTIF KPI of 98% Next Day delivery within agreed stock levels.
  • Coordinate new product stock requirements and manage existing stock to minimise the risk of slow-moving inventory.
  • Process product non-conformance to ensure no financial loss to the company while maintaining OTIF targets.
  • Assist in the development and implementation of a recently introduced Requirements Planning system.
  • Develop strong relationships with suppliers, ensuring smooth and efficient procurement processes.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
  • Organised, confident, and motivated, with a commitment to exceeding targets.
  • Ability to work under strict time constraints and pressures to ensure timely availability of goods.
  • Commitment to providing exceptional customer service to both customers and internal departments.
  • Experience in a purchasing or administrative role is preferred.
