Purchasing & Logistics Manager

Location - Margate

Salary - £45,000 - £50,000 Per annum DOE

Hours - Monday - Thursday 8 am - 5 pm, Friday 8 am - 1 pm

If so, our client is looking for an experienced Purchasing & Logistics Manager who will be well-organised, confident, and self-motivated and who can work diligently in a fast-paced environment.

The contracted hours of work are 38 hours per week; however, you will be expected to work the hours deemed necessary to fulfil the job requirements

Responsibilities for the role of Purchasing & Logistics Manager

  • Successful formulation and implementation of purchasing processes
  • Managing, mentoring, and developing the purchasing team
  • The timely, accurate and effective running and development of the MRP system
  • Managing relationships with existing suppliers including monitoring supplier performance
  • Sourcing new suppliers, negotiating best prices and lead times to develop the supply contracts
  • The timely annual review of all standard costs
  • Successfully manage the fast-paced, high-volume purchasing requirements
  • Developing and monitoring the KPIs for the team
  • Presenting KPI date weekly to MD and General Manager

Person specification for the role of Purchasing & Logistics Manager

  • Must have at least 5 years’ experience in a senior procurement role including successful formulation and implementation of procurement strategies and supply contracts with quantifiable results.
  • Will be able to demonstrate an in-depth knowledge of procurement processes including experience of MRP systems.
  • Must have previous experience of successfully negotiating with internal and external stakeholders
  • Essential you hold a proactive approach to problem-solving
  • Positive work attitude essential for this role
  • Ideally, would have previous experience in electronic/electro-mechanical or engineering environment
  • Will have the mindset and desire to excel in the role and improve operations through continuous self and team improvement
  • CIPS qualification would be highly desirable
  • Would be nice to have had previous experience in the implementation of MRP systems, ideally SAP
