Job Title:  Purchasing Manager

Location: Burton on Trent

Salary: £50k - £52k / annum + bonus + benefits

Hours: 37 hours week

This is a great opportunity for an experienced Purchasing Manager to join an established manufacturing company within the Burton on Trent area.

Reporting to the Managing director you will be responsible performing strategic procurement activities across various spend categories, aiming to find better deals and more profitable suppliers to meet budgeted cost savings and inventory targets.

Main duties include:

  • Procurement of equipment, material, and services, both direct and indirect, managing vendors and suppliers in line with company processes and procedures
  • Supplier relationship management and negotiation to ensure cost-effective and high-quality procurement.
  • Analyse market trends, forecast demand, and mitigate risks to optimize the procurement process.
  • Manage cost savings initiatives and product improvement initiatives.
  • Form part of the senior management team.

Skills and Experience:

  • Fully qualified Chartered Institute of Procurement & Supply (Essential)
  • Minimum of 5 years’ experience in a Purchasing/Buying role.
  • Experience within a manufacturing environment desirable.
  • Sound knowledge and practical working experience of MRP systems
  • Strong organisational skills and ability to work under pressure.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and oral
  • A talent for negotiation and networking.
  • A strategic approach with commercial awareness.
