QSHE Manager

Location: Poole

Salary: up to £50k DOE

Hours: 8am-5pm Mon-Fri (1 hour lunch)

Aspire Jobs are delighted to be working with our client who are a well-established family run business and who are now looking for an additional member of staff to join their hardworking team.

They are looking for a QSHE Manager to join their team. The successful candidate must have experience within a similar role. You will be based at their Poole office, but this role will require you to travel to their other locations (South West only).

The company prides itself on their accreditations and in order to uphold these it will be your responsibility to do the reporting once a week, maintaining records and being accountable. You will also need to be comfortable with reporting to the C.E.O and Directors quarterly therefore this is a key role within their business. You will be able to work under pressure, think clearly and act decisively and have good personal organisational skills. You will be a good listener and have good problem-solving skills as well as being a great communicator who is a team player.

The successful QSHE Manager will: -

  • Have previous QSHE Managerial experience
  • Have a recognised safety and environmental qualification (diploma level or equivalent)
  • Hold an auditor’s qualification and have experience in ISO 9001, 14001, 18001
  • Have a NEBOSH diploma in occupational Health & Safety Level 3 - preferred
  • Have a NVQ Level 4/5 Occupational Safety and Health practice
  • Ideally have IMEA (Institute of Environmental Management & Assessment) although this is not essential

Job duties for QSHE Manager:-

  • Maintain the management system and identify and implement initiatives to improve it including all procedures, processes.
  • Carry out and offer support / advice on Risk assessments, method statements & COSHH
  • Maintain quality, safety and environmental systems, implement, audit and update all associated documentation to achieve compliance with ISO 9001, 14001 and 45001
  • Monitor, audit and report on QSHE performance and provide feedback and assurance to Senior Leadership Team
  • Develop, maintain and improve the business integrated Management system to underpin QSHE and operating standards
  • Maintain a risk register, reviewing QSHE risks and escalating where appropriate
  • Maintain a legal register to ensure compliance and relevant legislation and regulations
  • Support the training and development of all staff to ensure awareness and understanding of QSHE standards
  • Implement and monitor emergency management plans across all sites and ensure robust line of escalation exists
  • Ensure appropriate resources are provided to support a compliant business and identify any systemic weaknesses
  • Advice, guide, support and promote awareness and coach personnel with implementation of the company’s policies and procedures
  • Ensure all essential tasks assigned to you are completed daily, weekly and monthly as required
  • Any other duties as may be required from time to time.
