Position: Year 1 Qualified Teacher
Location: Maidenhead, Berkshire
Duration: Cover till September, with the potential for a permanent role based on performance.
Experience: Minimum 1-2 years with Year 1 children.

Job Description: A reputable prep school in Maidenhead is seeking a dedicated and experienced Year 1 Qualified Teacher to join their team. This temporary position is available immediately and will extend through to September. Based on performance, there is an opportunity for this role to become permanent.

Responsibilities:

  • Deliver engaging and effective lessons in core subjects including Math, Science, and Phonics
  • Foster a positive and inclusive classroom environment
  • Plan and conduct activities for outdoor learning and story time
  • Prepare and execute lesson plans for humanities subjects
  • Cover Planning, Preparation, and Assessment (PPA) time effectively
  • Assess and monitor student progress, providing feedback and support
  • Collaborate with colleagues and parents to enhance student learning
  • Adhere to school policies and the standards set out in the curriculum

Requirements:

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)
  • Minimum of 1-2 years of experience teaching Year 1 children
  • Strong understanding of the Year 1 curriculum and child development
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to inspire and motivate young learners
  • Enhanced DBS clearance on the update service
