Nursery Practitioner job in Crawley!

This fantastic nursery located in the Crawley area is looking for a Nursery Practitioner to join their expanding team. The organisation is located close to local transport links. The nursery hold a Good Ofsted rating. They are open 07:30 - 18:00, Monday to Friday all weeks of the year except for one week at Christmas. They plan the environment around the inspiration of Reggio Emilia. Within this they aim to provide exciting learning opportunities for children to use all their natural creative skills. This is done through a range of activities including music, artistic and creative materials and sensory equipment. Their aim is to allow the children to explore and investigate their environment using all their senses.

Your new role

The nursery is looking for qualified staff that hold NQT Level 2 or 3 in Childcare and Education or equivalent. They are happy to support Level 2 practitioners in obtaining their Level 3. Your role would be as a nursery practitioner in the nursery in Crawley. You will be assisting with the day to day running of the classes, supporting the children and using your initiative to help them succeed.

You will be responsible for the the care and welfare of children in the setting in compliance with Company policies and procedures, ensuring compliance with the Childcare Act 2006 and Health and Safety legislation, all within the requirements and guidelines as laid down by Ofsted and the Early Years Foundation Stage guidance. You will need to be a positive role model for colleagues and children, being able to offer continuous support of the children, ensuring their learning and development is supported at all times. You will need to have the ability to manage children's behaviour effectively, communicating with parents and working on strategies where appropriate. You will need to liaise with parents to ensure effective communication within the nurseries, assisting with regular parents evenings, open days and outings with the children.

What you'll need to succeed

The successful candidate will have experience within a day nursery setting and be able to show enthusiasm and dedication in offering high quality education to all children. An understanding of how children learn is essential, and a willingness to learn is essential in our every-developing world. It is essential that you have NVQ Level 2 or 3 Child Care Qualification. You will need to have worked within a Nursery/primary/pre-prep environment in the last 2 years, that can provide a reference. You need to have a clean enhanced DBS Check on the update service or if not, the nursery will run an enhanced DBS check for you. You need to be flexible and most importantly, have a fun personality that the children will be able to engage with. It is important that you have a good understanding of children's development and their needs as well as ensuring positive management of children's behaviour.
