Location: County Hall, Dorchester
Working Hours:
- Monday to Thursday: 8:40am - 5:20pm
- Friday: 8:40am - 4:00pm
Grade: 11
Job Overview: We are looking for an experienced and dedicated Social Worker to join our busy and supportive Safeguarding Team based in County Hall, Dorchester. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in safeguarding, with a thorough understanding of relevant legislation and the ability to manage and investigate safeguarding referrals effectively.
Key Responsibilities: * Triage safeguarding referrals and complete necessary follow-up investigations.
- Support and safeguard vulnerable individuals by applying appropriate risk management strategies, including positive risk-taking.
- Utilise strong communication skills to collaborate effectively with team members, other departments, and external agencies.
- Ensure all actions comply with relevant legislation, including the Care Act 2014, Mental Capacity Act 2005, and Mental Health Act 1983.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of all cases and actions taken.
Qualifications and Experience:
- Qualified and registered Social Worker (current SWE registration number required). Minimum of 3 years' experience in a similar role within a safeguarding setting.
- In-depth knowledge of the Care Act 2014, Mental Capacity Act 2005, and Mental Health Act 1983.
- Proven ability to manage risk and engage in positive risk-taking.
- Enhanced DBS clearance.
