Position Available: Quality Assurance Engineer (Non-Conformance)

Location: Greater Manchester (Hybrid) & dynamic working hours

Salary: Up to £50,000 + Paid Overtime & Company Bonus

Experience needed: Experience in quality assurance within a complex engineering/manufacturing environment, with strong knowledge of non-conformance and good analytical/data skills. Experience in electrical testing or customer returns would be a massive plus.

About the role

We are a leading defence company who are at the forefront of innovation in the industry and your work will have a direct impact on the safety and security of the UK & our allies. We are currently looking for a Quality Assurance Engineer to join our Non-Conformance team who provide support to the Manufacturing teams in the UK.

The role involves managing non-conformance within manufacturing, handling activities such as administration, containment, and data analysis. The responsibilities include implementing corrective actions, collating KPIs, and facilitating problem-solving activities. The position also supports the transfer of new products, conducts non-conformance meetings at all levels, and addresses customer concerns cross European facilities. The role emphasises collaboration between business units and works closely with the Programs Quality representative and wider Quality teams to track non-conformities and improvements.

Due to the complexity and uniqueness of the work in our business, we can only consider candidates coming from a similar industry as defence e.g., automotive, aerospace, aviation, electronics, energy, oil & gas, robotics, telecommunications, and other complex forms of manufacturing.


What we need from you:

  • Experience of working in quality assurance within a complex engineering/manufacturing environment, with strong knowledge of non-conformance
  • Excellent analytical skills, utilising data to identify trends and drive improvements
  • Strong problem-solving skills and able to lead activities for improvements
  • Ability and confidence to report to all levels of the business
  • Good planning and organising skills to ensure tasks are prioritised to deliver set objectives
  • Practical use of SAP would be desirable
  • Some electrical test experience would be an advantage
