About the role:

The Quality Manager plays a crucial role in championing Ocado Technology's Quality Mission, ensuring our suite of robotics products aligns with our strategic goals for assured outcomes.

While ISO 9001 sets the framework for risk management and continuous improvement, this role involves driving innovative approaches to QMS application across Compliance, Design, Operations, and Services.

We’re a cross functional team of Product, Hardware and Project Engineers. This role is situated within Ocado Technology Services whilst equally supporting Ocado Technology Operations.

The primary objectives of this role are to establish, implement, and maintain an effective quality management system while reporting measurable performance improvements. Your responsibilities will include:

  • Developing and promoting a proactive quality assurance framework across the company.
  • Implementing value-driven improvements to our QMS, crucial for fostering our quality culture.
  • Establishing dependencies for QMS integration in product design and engineering.
  • Leading internal audits, governance, and reporting processes.
  • Identifying opportunities for Project Quality Assurance to drive enhancements in quality.
  • Conducting problem-solving and failure mode analysis with Supply Chain Quality to identify and mitigate design process failures.

What we’re looking for:

  • Ideally a Bachelor's degree in Engineering or related field.
  • Proven experience in Quality Systems Management/Quality Assurance/Quality Assurance Engineer (or other relatable fields)
  • In-depth understanding of quality control procedures and relevant legal standards.
  • Strong organisational and leadership skills.
  • Conscientious, responsible, and committed to quality.
  • Outstanding communication skills, fostering collaboration across teams.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Proficiency in quality tools and methodologies.

It would be advantageous if you had; (but not essential)

  • Certification in quality control (e.g., ISO 9000)
