Futures are working with an industry leading manufacturer, based in Leeds, who are looking to appoint a Quality Engineer. As Quality Engineer you will supervise a small team of inspectors in their day-to-day activities and work closely with the quality engineers who focus on manufacturing. You will need an excellent understanding of NCR investigation, identifying root cause analyses and implementing corrective actions.

You need to have excellent understanding of industry regulations (ISO9001 and 14001) previous experience as lead / lead / principal quality. This is a generalist role covering direct manufacturing quality support, improving quality standard, root cause analysis, risk assessments, supplier quality and auditing. It is important that you have previous technical manufacturing experience and a good understanding of lean manufacturing or general process improvement. Our client welcome new ideas and ways of working. You will play an important part in streamlining their SOPs and introducing new process where needed.

*Manage a small team of inspectors
* Reviewing manufacturing processes and techniques to find efficiencies
* Investigating customer complaints, using root cause analysis and other tools, and implementing corrective actions
* Supervise a growing team of quality coordinators on their day to day activates
* Carrying out internal audits and hosting external auditor visits in line with ISO accreditations
* Delivering training to staff: this may be via toolbox talks or presentations

*Investigating NCR’s and identifying root cause.

* Proven experience and working knowledge of ISO 9001 management system
* Experience supervising a small team of quality coordinators/inspectors
* Previous experience of technical manufacturing environment
* Experience of implementing quality improvement techniques Six Sigma, LEAN Manufacturing and problem-solving tools such as root cause analysis, 8D, fishbone diagrams and five whys
* Experience of carrying out internal audits, identifying NCR, giving feedback and developing improvement plans
* Motivation to challenge the status quo, balanced with a supportive approach to change management and the associated challenges this brings
