The Role

Boneham & Turner are looking for a Quality Lead to join our growing team.

In this role, you will be responsible for leading and overseeing all aspects of our Quality Management System (QMS). You will ensure that all our systems, processes and products are compliant with industry standards and meet customer requirements.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead internal AS9100 audits and manage the company's QMS.
  • Be a proactive member of the AS9100 Contract Review Team and educate internal teams on quality standards.
  • Ensure compliance with applicable standards and internal processes.
  • Manage and maintain the calibration of on-site equipment.
  • Investigate customer and supplier non-conformities, identify root causes, and implement corrective actions.
  • Improve document storage and management of all quality documents.
  • Complete First Article Inspection reports and customer quality documentation.
  • Attend daily Operations Boardwalks to identify quality issues and drive improvements.
  • Manage non-conforming products and communicate effectively to minimise disruption.
  • Handle customer concession requests and liaise with internal teams.
  • Oversee supplier capability and compliance.
  • Collaborate with the Global Supply Chain to ensure conformance.
  • Support internal departments with customer facing quality issues.
  • Mentor junior staff and apprentices.

Boneham & Turner Ltd is a leading manufacturer and supplier of tooling components and precision engineered components in the UK. With over 100 years’ experience in the manufacture and supply of Jig Bushes, Drill Bushes, Dowel Pins, Jig & Fixture Parts, Press Tool Components, Shims, Koenig Sealing Plugs, Engineered Pins, Clevis Pins and special components to customer specific drawings.

The Person

  • You will have a qualification in Engineering (either manufacturing or mechanical).
  • A working knowledge of materials and material processing would be advantageous.
  • Excellent communication skills are essential.
  • You have experience working in a fast-paced environment.
  • A strong understanding of the AS9100 and ISO9000 standards is required.
  • Knowledge of lean manufacturing principles is a plus.
  • You are a problem solver who can identify improvements and support their implementation.
  • You are proficient in using measuring tools and have a methodical approach to tasks.
  • Experience with RCCA handling is preferred.
  • The ability to read and understand engineering drawings and customer specifications is essential.
  • You are a continuous learner with a desire to improve business processes.
