EM Macro Quant Analyst

We have partnered with a leading asset manager (double-digit £bn AUM in EM Equities & EM Fixed Income) looking to hire an EM Macro Quantitative Analyst in a newly created, high-impact role based in London. The position sits across multiple investment desks and offers the opportunity to work closely with portfolio managers and traders, helping to build tools, models, and research frameworks that enhance the firm’s ability to evaluate countries and market opportunities through a unified, systematic/quantitative lens.

This is an exciting opportunity for a quantitatively-minded, macro-oriented thinker to join a highly respected EM manager and help shape the future of their investment process. The ideal candidate will bring strong programming skills, deep quantitative aptitude, and a collaborative, entrepreneurial mindset that thrives in identifying gaps and creating scalable solutions to support the investment team.

Key Responsibilities

  • Partner directly with PMs and traders across several investment teams to enhance investment research and decision-making processes through quantitative tools and models.
  • Design and implement systematic frameworks to evaluate country-level macro data and cross-asset relationships.
  • Build scalable, standardized research infrastructure that supports a more unified quantitative approach to EM macro investing.
  • Drive innovation across the investment process by proposing data-driven solutions and identifying key data inputs required to optimize decision-making.
  • Leverage statistical, econometric, and machine learning techniques to enhance macro research and country-level analysis.
  • Contribute to internal knowledge-sharing and promote cross-team collaboration to embed a quant-focused culture across the investment organization.
  • Work on cross-asset projects involving EM fixed income, FX, and equity markets to identify macro trends and investment signals.
  • Experience with portfolio optimization and trade execution analytics is a plus but not required.

Requirements & Qualifications

  • 5–10+ years of experience in a quantitative investment research or analyst role, ideally within a buy-side environment.
  • Strong programming ability (Python preferred) and deep quantitative aptitude across modelling, data analysis, and applied statistics.
  • A macro-oriented lens with comfort working with country-level economic data, EM macro drivers, and cross-asset interlinkages.
  • Proven experience developing tools, models, and data pipelines to support investment teams.
  • Entrepreneurial mindset with the ability to independently identify gaps, build high-impact solutions, and influence change.
  • EM experience is preferred—but not essential for candidates who demonstrate clear interest and curiosity in EM investing.
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work across investment desks and influence decision-making processes.
