Quantity Surveyor and Project Estimator- £35,000 - £50,000 (based on experience) - Sidcup, Kent

The Role

Do you have a strong background in kitchen estimating or a similar role within the construction, design, furniture or bespoke joinery industry? Are you proficient with estimating software and spreadsheets? If so, we have an exciting opportunity for you.

We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Quantity Surveyor and Project Estimator to join our team. In this role you will prepare accurate cost estimates, collaborate with designers, clients and suppliers to ensure that each project stays within budget while maintaining the highest standards of quality.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Estimate Preparation: Analyse project requirements, prepare detailed cost estimates, and provide accurate pricing for kitchen designs, materials, and labour.
  • Collaboration: Work closely with designers, project managers, and clients to ensure estimates align with project specifications and budgets.
  • Supplier Management: Source and negotiate prices with suppliers for materials, fixtures, and appliances to secure competitive pricing.
  • Cost Analysis: Conduct feasibility studies and cost-benefit analyses for kitchen projects.
  • Documentation: Prepare and maintain comprehensive documentation of estimates, proposals, and quotations.
  • Customer Engagement: Address client inquiries regarding pricing and provide clear explanations of cost breakdowns.
  • Market Research: Stay up to date with industry trends, pricing, and product innovations to maintain competitive and accurate estimations.
  • Quality Control: Ensure all estimates comply with company standards, policies, and client requirements.

The Person

  • Proven experience as a Kitchen Estimator or in a similar role within the furniture design or bespoke joinery industry.
  • Strong understanding of kitchen design principles, materials, and construction techniques.
  • Familiarity with estimating software and spreadsheets
  • Excellent numerical and analytical skills with a keen attention to detail.
  • Strong negotiation, communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • Problem solving ability and the capacity to find cost effective solutions while maintaining quality standards
