Quantity Surveyor- Groundworks

Job Title: Quantity Surveyor - Groundworks Projects

Location: St Albans

Salary: £50,000-£60,000 DOE

Key Responsibilities:

• Analyze project drawings, specifications, and other documentation to prepare comprehensive cost estimates for groundworks projects.
• Collaborate with project managers, engineers, subcontractors, and suppliers to gather necessary information for accurate estimations.
• Evaluate project requirements, including materials, labor, equipment, and other resources, to determine project costs.
• Utilize industry-standard estimating software and tools to generate detailed cost breakdowns and proposals.
• Present estimates to management and participate in bid reviews and negotiations.
• Monitor and track project costs throughout the lifecycle of the project, identifying and addressing any discrepancies or variances.
• Stay updated on industry trends, pricing, and market conditions to ensure competitive and accurate estimations.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or related field preferred.
• Proven experience as an Estimator in the construction industry, with a focus on groundworks projects.
• Strong understanding of construction methods, materials, and building codes.
• Proficiency in estimating software and Microsoft Office Suite.
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Effective communication and negotiation abilities.
• Detail-oriented with a high level of accuracy.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
