Quantity Surveyor- Groundworks
Job Title: Quantity Surveyor - Groundworks Projects
Location: St Albans
Salary: £50,000-£60,000 DOE
Key Responsibilities:
- Analyze project drawings, specifications, and other documentation to prepare comprehensive cost estimates for groundworks projects.
- Collaborate with project managers, engineers, subcontractors, and suppliers to gather necessary information for accurate estimations.
- Evaluate project requirements, including materials, labor, equipment, and other resources, to determine project costs.
- Utilize industry-standard estimating software and tools to generate detailed cost breakdowns and proposals.
- Present estimates to management and participate in bid reviews and negotiations.
- Monitor and track project costs throughout the lifecycle of the project, identifying and addressing any discrepancies or variances.
- Stay updated on industry trends, pricing, and market conditions to ensure competitive and accurate estimations.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or related field preferred.
- Proven experience as an Estimator in the construction industry, with a focus on groundworks projects.
- Strong understanding of construction methods, materials, and building codes.
- Proficiency in estimating software and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Effective communication and negotiation abilities.
- Detail-oriented with a high level of accuracy.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
