Quantity Surveyor (Intermediate to Senior)

GBR Recruitment are working in close partnership with a well established progressive new build housing developer recruiting for an experienced Quantity Surveyor / Senior Quantity Surveyor (non chartered or chartered) to manage multiple new build sites, inc. budgets & costs, from the initial site inception stage right through to full build completion, preparing accurate monthly site valuations (CVR's) covering Lincolnshire, Nottinghamshire, South Yorkshire & other areas.

You must be a seasoned QS that is strong in CDM & Construction projects across multiple sectors / build types.

Overview of the Role:

• To assist with managing multiple sites from inception to completion
• Effectively assisting in the management of all site budgets & costs for multiple sites
• Assisting with the preparation of accurate monthly site valuations (CVR’s)

Daily Duties:

• Weekly & fortnightly payments of direct & subcontractor labour only trades
• Analyse sub-contractor invoices/applications
• Monthly sub-contractor payments
• Keep Payment Record Sheets up-to-date following completion of each payment run
• Prepare monthly cost / value reconciliation
• Prepare sub-contractor procurement tender list for sign off by QSM & Operations /Production Directors
• Prepare tender documents/packs and send out to the relevant sub-contractors
• Analyse tenders upon return
• Undertake tender analysis by evaluating tenders and comparing the prices against each other, previous developments, and the site budget
• Carry out pre-order meetings with sub-contractors

Skills, Qualifications & Experience Required:

• Previous experience of Eque 2 Housebuilding or COINS software is desirable but not essential
• Must be strong in CDM & varied Construction works (£M projects)
• Bsc Hons Degree in Quantity Surveying or Construction related degree or time served in a QS capacity
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Hold a valid and appropriate CSCS card or commit to obtaining one
• Previous experience in a similar QS position working on residential projects within the new build housing sector is useful or any build types
• Must be self-motivated and very organised with the ability to operate efficiently with minimal supervision
