An opportunity has been created for a QS to join one of the South West’s leading names within Civil Engineering & Groundworks.
As a company they currently support several Tier 1 contractors with their Major Build projects away from Residential Developments.
They are known for their expertise and credit their success to having a solid reputation within the industry.
Their Commercial team are thinking about their succession and are looking to mentor and progress the right person to eventually take over and run the division as the lead as well as grow the business.
The Job
You will be mentored and supported by the Commercial Director with the day to day commercial operations of your own schemes, which can range in contract values up to £12M.
Duties will include procurement, measurement, valuations and payments alongside general commercial administration ensuring company procedures are complied with at all times. Depending on the size and complexity of your projects, you should be comfortable working as part of a team or overseeing and mentoring less experienced members of staff.
The Person
Applicants will have previous surveying experience with major civil engineering projects and ideally, groundworks, plant hire and earth moving.
You should hold a relevant construction management or quantity surveying qualification at min HNC level or equivalent, have sound technical knowledge and possess strong communication and IT skills with the desire to progress your career and take on responsibility.
