Quantity Surveyor
We specialise in the recruitment of high quality candidates in the Construction sector. We have an excellent opportunity for a Quantity Surveyor to assist with proposals, monitoring project progress and controlling costs to maximise income.
Quantity Surveyor’s Core Duties
- Identify scope of works
- Identify cost of materials, labour and equipment
- Assess overheads and potential profit
- Request and review quotes from third parties and select as appropriate
- Assess project risks and incorporate them into the estimates
- Take into account inflation and exchange rates
- Prepare projected timescales with provisions for unexpected events
- Prepare quotes and monitor costs
- Agree costs, budgets and project variances
- Manage contractual agreements and resolve any disputes
- Prepare customer invoices in line with contracts and manage cashflow
- Ensure profit margins are met
- Comply with all policies and procedures, in particular anti-bribery
Quantity Surveyor’s Skills Required
- Degree in Quantity Surveying (desirable)
- 3 - 5 years’ experience as a Quantity Surveyor or Estimator
- Experience estimating and running projects over £5m
- Experience specifically with carpentry, joinery and fit outs
- Good project management skills and able to adapt to change
- Excellent communication skills and good at building client and supplier relationships
- Experience working with third parties and customers
- Excellent teamworking skills
- High level of integrity
- Good MS Office skills, in particular Excel
- Full, clean driving licence with vehicle
