We are an award-winning company and one of Europe's leading designers and manufactures within the engineering sector. We employ over 220 staff in the UK and Overseas and are seeking a Temporary Receptionist and Administrator to start asap and cover throughout the Summer months. You will report into and support our Health and Safety and Facilities Manager and work alongside a part time receptionist covering reception/administration tasks, with the role being split 60% reception and 40% administration.

The role would suit candidates with some reception experience or simply very good customer service skills with good administration ability too. We would also consider University students home for the Summer who have previous office or customer service experience.

The working hours are Monday-Friday with a generous hourly rate plus holiday accrual and weekly pay with free  on site parking.

Working as part of the Reception/Administration team your duties will involve a variety of tasks including as listed below:

Reception:

  • Visitors - greet & welcome, maintenance of the visitor monitoring system, distribution of PPE and informing the relevant member of staff of their arrival
  • Contractors - Issue work permits, provision of a verbal induction & supporting documents and communication of PPE requirements
  • Operate the Company switchboard - receiving & qualifying telephone calls, announcing & connecting callers, taking brief messages and passing these on, directing voicemail messages, maintaining, reporting telephone equipment and line faults to the IT department
  • Company Post - sort all incoming & frank all outgoing mail on time, ensure the franking machine is charged and maintained on a daily basis.

Office Services & Support:

  • Book meeting rooms and maintain the meeting room diary plus support catering requirements for internal meetings including the order & collection of food
  • Book travel when requested for visitors
  • Order and monitor the stationery, toner levels, cleaning materials for external contract cleaners, coffee, tea, and sugar for the business
  • Supporting the management of the annual uniform issue
  • Scanning of various documents for electronic storage plus maintenance of Company Documentation

To be successful for the Reception/Administration support role you will have some previous reception, customer service and/or administration experience within an office, retail or hospitality environment and have a good knowledge of Microsoft programs. You should have an excellent phone manner and be confident dealing with colleagues, clients and suppliers via phone and in person as we have visitors to the site. You will be happy to work alone also and be able to commit to working throughout the Summer months.
