Receptionist
 
We are working with a  membership organisation based a semi-rural location so own transport is essential. The company is based on the outskirts of Birmingham City Centre.
 
The role is a temporary position paying £15.80 per hour.  
  
Primary Responsibilities of a receptionist Include:
  • Operating the switchboard efficiently, ensuring all calls are dealt with in a professional and helpful manner, in accordance with published protocols;
  • Providing an efficient and professional reception service to all visitors/guests, in accordance with published protocols;
  • Undertaking those routine clerical duties which are compatible with operating the switchboard within given time frames;
  • Operating and monitoring the security barriers and television security cameras;
  • Accurately calculating and processing charges for clients, including taking payments, end of day audits, daily banking preparation and effective handling/processing of all associated paperwork;
  • Accurately and efficiently dealing with all Conference Centre accommodation bookings via the computerised and/or manual systems as instructed;
  • Covering as required in the absence of a Conference Centre Duty Manager in respect of problem-solving and finding staff to cover for any colleague who has not turned up for their shift.
  • To work in co-operation with the staff of other Headquarters teams and Centers on projects and initiatives with shared interest.
  • To undertake any other reasonable duties requested by the General Secretary.
  
PLEASE NOTE THE HOURS OF WORK:
 
35 hours a week 5 days over 7 between 7 am and 10 pm.
Shadow week commencing Monday 15 July
Monday 2.15 until 9.45 pm
Tuesday 2.15 until 9.45 pm
Wednesday 7 am until 2.30 pm
Off Thursday Friday
Saturday 2.15 until 9.45 pm
Sunday 7 am until 2.30 pm
