Recoveries Manager - Commercial Banking

Location: London (hybrid working)

The Bank:

Job Purpose:

  • To manage the credit relationship for a portfolio of Recoveries exposures with the overarching aim being to minimise losses at an acceptable risk and cost.
  • The job holder will manage the recovery cases in their portfolio by applying and implementing appropriate recovery, asset enforcement, litigation and insolvency procedures.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead Recovery customer relationships whilst demonstrating a range of recovery and enforcement techniques across the various asset portfolios to reduce provisions and maximise realisations at acceptable risk and cost.
  • Recommending (i) full and final settlements (ii) Insolvency appointments i.e. Administrators, Fixed Charge Receivers, enforcement and realisation of assets charged as security including Possession Proceedings and Delivery Up Orders (iii) litigation procedures to include obtaining Judgement, Charging Orders, Oral Examinations, Garnishee Orders etc.
  • Instruct and manage the subsequent appointments of insolvency practitioners, solicitors, estate agents and other recovery professionals as appropriate.
  • Identify and work with Vulnerable customers in line with TCF and the banks policy and procedures.
  • Develop strong, positive and open working relationships with the Bank’s key stakeholders.
  • Support the Managing Director Business Support to work with the CCO to ensure Recovery exposures are managed and reported in line with the Bank’s policies and procedures.
  • Ensure all conduct and compliance requirements are adhered to and are at the heart of the Bank’s approach.
  • Support the Managing Director Business Support to ensure risk appetite and operational targets for Recovery account exposures are set, managed and monitored as required.
  • Support the implementation of a strategy to increase the knowledge / share education of the management of Recovery exposures to support the development of an appropriate risk culture within the business.
  • Maintain and manage pro-active and appropriate relationships with external suppliers to support Business Support and customer activity.

About you:

  • Significant experience in corporate recovery roles including personal and corporate litigation, asset enforcement and insolvency appointments.
  • Ideally candidates should have experience gained across financial services and banking with a focus on Real Estate Finance, Asset Finance and Trading business SME’s.
  • Strong awareness of the regulatory framework including Conduct and Compliance requirements.
  • Proven analytical skills with a strong working knowledge of insolvency, asset enforcement and litigation practices and procedures.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills, including the ability to engage with clients who are facing stressed trading conditions or other financial difficulties.
  • Strong leadership capabilities with the ability to communicate effectively with both risk and front-line relationship teams.
  • Educated to degree level or other equivalent professional qualification.
