  • Hourly Rate: £25.62
  • Location: Wrexham
  • Job Type: Full-time, Temporary (2-3 months)
  • Working Hours: 37 hours per week (Mon-Thu 8:00 am – 5:00 pm, Fri 8:00 am - 1:00 pm)

We are seeking a Maths Tutor to join our offender learning team within prison education in Wrexham. This temporary role is an exceptional opportunity to contribute to the personal growth of learners and help them make positive contributions to their communities.

Day-to-day of the role:

  • Develop and deliver high-quality functional skills maths lessons tailored to the needs of adult learners.
  • Create a positive and inclusive learning environment that encourages student engagement and participation.
  • Assess learner needs and devise individualised learning plans to support their educational journey.
  • Monitor learner progress, provide constructive feedback, and assist learners in achieving their qualifications.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to ensure the best educational outcomes for all learners.
  • Stay updated with curriculum changes and best practices in functional skills education.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

  • A minimum of Level 2 in Maths and English (GCSE grades 9 to 4, A* to C, or equivalent).
  • A qualification in Maths teaching.
  • Proven effectiveness in teaching maths to diverse learner groups.
  • A Level 5 teaching qualification or equivalent is highly desirable.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a clean, enhanced Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check.
