Our client is an award-winning firm with a history dating back to 1962. With over 300 Fee Earners providing a specialist service, they seek to recruit and retain the most talented people. They are now looking for a Regional Financial Accountant, this role would also offer full time hybrid working.

Responsibilities

  • Update bank entries including splitting out large supplier payments
  • Update forecasts for expectations
  • Advise UK Finance Manager of forecast fund shortages
  • Prepare the schedule and find invoices to support payments
  • Prepare Barclays payment run and ask UK Finance Manager to approve it
  • Review AP sessions prepared by Finance Assistants as required and ask them to amend &/or post AP sessions as necessary
  • Enter payments (partner requests / bill transfers)
  • Authorise payments in absence of UK Finance Manager
  • Update bank reconciliations
  • Ensure Finance Assistants check bank statements regularly
  • Ensure Finance Assistants post all receipts and payments
  • Reconcile & posting the "Payroll" control accounts
  • Review with UK Finance manager or Channel Islands Head of Finance and fix differences
  • Update bad debt provision schedules
  • Post bad debt provision journals
  • Update fixed asset register
  • Post depreciation journals
  • Reconcile Intercompany accounts
  • Post journal for Intercompany charges from other offices
  • Notify other offices of our Intercompany charges to them
  • Update prepayments schedules
  • Prepare, upload and post prepayments journals
  • Update accruals schedules
  • Prepare, upload and post accruals journals
  • Update staff costs analysis and submit to Head office
  • Adjustments for Inter-Office fees and disbursements
  • Adjustments for Global Management expense recharges
  • Assist with the preparation of spreadsheets and analysis spreadsheets
  • Respond to audit queries and requests
  • Assist with the preparation of spreadsheets and schedules
  • Discussions with budget holders to agree plans and costs
  • Prepare tax analysis schedules for tax advisers

Candidate Profile

  • We are seeking a qualified accountant with relevant accounts-based qualifications.
  • Experience within the legal sector would be highly desirable.
  • Candidates must be willing to learn, adaptable, flexible and methodical in their approach.
  • We are seeking someone who is driven and with an eye for detail. Candidates must be willing and able to step up to tackle increase supervisory duties if required in additional to designing and preparing more management reports if requested.
