I am delighted to be working with a leading international law firm and assist in the recruitment of a Regional Financial Controller for the Asia Pacific region.

This role will have responsibility of managing a high-performing finance team, ensuring technical excellence, exceptional service levels, and timely delivery. You will collaborate with the Regional Business Manager to serve as a business partner and trusted advisor to the regional leadership team on all accounting and finance issues, aiming to maximise profitability, minimise financial risk and support strategic growth targets. You will be expected to provide financial leadership and deliver operational finance efficiently and in compliance with group standards, while adhering to all local reporting standards and regulations. This position will oversee the financial planning, monitoring, and reporting of overheads and overall profitability for the region.

Other responsibilities of this role include providing leadership, supervision, and development for the finance teams in APAC, fostering an effective cross-regional team culture centered on responsiveness and a "how can I help you" approach. Collaborate with the Global Tax team and external advisors to establish and maintain procedures for compliance with local GST/VAT, payroll, and other tax regulations, including support for local returns and annual inspections, while addressing any ad hoc tax queries promptly and accurately.

The Regional Financial Controller will provide in-depth financial analysis with insightful narratives on business financials, and work closely with the Group Financial Reporting & Control team and Regional Business Manager to produce and interpret monthly management accounts, including performance and variance analysis. Ensure accountability for all local statutory, regulatory, and internal compliance requirements, manage accounting records, and oversee all financial processes.

The ideal candidate will be a qualified accountant with a minimum of five years post-qualification experience, preferably in a professional services firm such as a legal practice. Possesses a strong track record in building, leading, and managing high-performing teams, along with a comprehensive working knowledge of finance, tax, and compliance regimes in the Asia Pacific region.
