As a Regulations & Electricity Markets Manager, you'll be at the forefront of understanding and navigating the evolving regulatory environment surrounding electricity markets in the UK. Your expertise will be instrumental in facilitating the development of distributed demand response programs, contributing to our mission of driving energy efficiency and sustainability.

What we need you to do:

• Master regulations governing access to markets where demand response is valued, including capacity mechanisms, adjustment mechanisms, and system services.
• Participate in regulatory working groups led by National Grid, focusing on tenders for demand response, storage, capacity market, system services, and prospective studies.
• Contribute to consultations conducted by National Grid, the Department for Business, Energy & Industrial Strategy (BEIS), and/or the Office of Gas and Electricity Markets (Ofgem).
• Engage in revision cycles for access rules to different mechanisms, such as the redesign of capacity mechanisms and NEBEF rule projects.
• Collaborate with National Grid and BEIS on the redesign of support mechanisms for demand response.
• Monitor economic and regulatory developments, analyse energy contexts, and support mechanisms for distributed demand response.
• Prepare briefing notes and documents for senior management and relevant institutions, including Ofgem and BEIS.
• Explore regulatory topics in other European countries where Voltalis may expand, supporting investment decisions.

Your background/expertise

• Master's degree with specialisation in energy management and markets, along with prior experience in the energy markets domain.
• Strong grasp of regulatory, economic, and technical frameworks related to electricity markets.
• Excellent ability to synthesise lengthy and complex documents.
• Ability to interact with external experts and influence decisions through clear and precise analysis.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, adaptable to a multinational and multicultural environment.
• Fluent in English; proficiency in French is a plus.
