Residential Child Care Support Worker with the ability to engage with children and teenagers who have complex emotional needs, good communication and time-management skills is required for a well-established organisation based in Wokingham, Berkshire.

Ideal candidates will have a professional qualification - QCF Level 3 in Residential Childcare (or equivalent) but this is not essential as the organisation can offer ongoing support and training, and the option to complete the QCF Level 3 upon successful completion of your probation period.

SALARY: £25,119 - £27,334 pro rata (depending on skills, experience and qualifications) + Benefits

LOCATION: Wokingham, Berkshire

JOB TYPE: Part-Time, Permanent

WORKING HOURS: 22 hours per week/2 Nights or 33 hours per week/3 Nights - candidates will need to be flexible and able to work Night Shift patterns which include weekends, overnights, late shifts and bank holidays

We have a fantastic new job opportunity for a Residential Child Care Support Workerwith the ability to engage with children and teenagers who have complex emotional needs, good communication and time-management skills.

Working as a Residential Child Care Support Worker you will join a brand-new residential children’s home, playing a vital role in supporting the delivery of a professional, child-centred service.

As a Residential Child Care Support Worker you will take on the role of a corporate parent, ensuring the welfare and safety of children and young people, and provide high-quality support to ensure the best outcomes.

There are a variety of opportunities available for both experienced Support Workers with a children or young person background, and inexperienced individuals with transferable skills and the drive to positively impact young people’s lives.

DUTIES

Your duties as a Residential Child Care Support Workerwill include:

  • Take on the role of a corporate parent, providing children and young people with love and direction
  • Ability to connect with and build meaningful relationships with children and young people who have had complex early lives
  • Take immediate action when the welfare or safety of children or young people is at risk
  • Delivery of high-quality support and guidance in order to promote the best outcomes possible for children in placement
  • To be flexible and willing to support the smooth running of the home
  • To be able to support children and young people to feel safe in their home and support their settling during the night
  • To take pride in the environment that the children and young people live and support the home in always looking its best

CANDIDATE REQUIREMENTS

  • Professional qualification in (recognised and current) QCF Level 3 in Residential Childcare, or equivalent, OR willingness to work towards this within the statutory timescales
  • The ability to engage with children and teenagers who have complex emotional needs
  • Previous experience in Social Care is desirable, but not essential
  • Ability to work the required shift patterns including weekends, overnights, late shifts and bank holidays
