Retail Sales Assistants, Arts & Heritage, London, £13.15 p/h plus holiday pay accrual.

High profile Museum in West London requires reliable Retail Sales Assistants for some temporary shifts. These shifts can be weekdays or weekends and between 4 hours and 8 hours long.

The main duties of the Retail Sales Assistant role are:

  • Welcome and positively engage every customer
  • Maintain visual merchandising standards across the shop
  • Help exceed all retail sales targets
  • Fully answer customer enquiries in a calm, professional manner, calling on support of the management team when appropriate
  • Take pride in one’s appearance and personal presentation
  • Operate the EPOS system in a secure and efficient manner
  • Work as part of a team in a positive manner
  • Responsible for health and safety and welfare of staff and customers, ensuring compliance with policies
  • Conduct regular stocktakes
  • Assist with deliveries
  • Ensure that the shop is kept clean and tidy, and that stock is regularly replenished

Skills and experience

  • Experience of working in a retail environment, or similar
  • Confidence and ability to proactively sell in very busy environments and exceed target
  • Excellent interpersonal skills, with a passion for delivering great customer service
  • Good visual merchandising skills and excellent recall of product knowledge
  • Flexible approach to a range of retail tasks, e.g. fulfilling online orders and stockroom duties
  • Team-spirited
