Revenue Accountant - Consumer Lending - Central West London

Banking

Deliver financial results/management accounts.

Key responsibilities include the delivery of accounting records and processes for a number of legal entities (Corporate, SPV and Warehouses). Awareness of technical accounting areas such as loan loss provision, EIR and Hedge Accounting etc and the management of the balance sheet reconciliation process at entity and consolidated level.

The role holder will work closely with other sections in Finance and other departments across the Company to provide financial support as required.
The role will also involve the co-ordination of the wider finance Risk Governance framework.

  • Deliver accounting for funding vehicles (SPVs) and consolidated levels
  • Control and deliver GL adjustments to reflect month end customer account movements into the ledger
  • Help junior team members across month end to ensure accurate delivery of results
  • Support FP&A on forecasting and month end analysis activity
  • Work with the FC to monitor Risk Governance and Control within the Finance Department
  • Line management responsibilities for assistant accountants

Technical accounting areas:

  • Ownership few technical accounting areas such as IFRS 9 loan loss provision, EIR, deferred consideration
  • Work closely with credit risk team to ensure relevant models are using up to date assumptions and are in line with IFRS 9 requirements
  • Awareness of Hedge Accounting

Balance Substantiation:

  • Produce consolidated substantiation pack to support balances, coordinating activities within the team to deliver the monthly activities and investigating and resolving reconciling items with team members
  • Undertaking balance sheet substantiation work on complex balances
  • Escalating and coordination of deep dive activities on issues identified during balance sheet substantiation work

Ad Hoc and Other Responsibilities:

  • Update and maintain procedure documents & Accounting policies for internal finance procedures
  • Provide cover for other members of the Finance team
  • Assist with project and business initiative activities as required
  • Assist the analysis of key month end results

Statutory Accounts:

  • Work with the Regulatory Reporting Manager to deliver the production of annual financial statements for a few SPV's, including familiarisation and set up of SPV's onto the OneSource system
  • Provide support in the delivery of the interim and final audits

Profile

Revenue Accountant - Consumer Lending - Central West London

  • Previous experience in delivery of financial results is desirable
  • An understanding of IFRS 9 requirements
  • A degree of understanding of securitisation and loan warehouse structures is advantageous but not essential
  • Experience of working within Financial Services is advantageous but not essential

Competencies:

  • Strong IT skills, including complex formulae in Excel
  • Ability to work within established internal controls and maintain a high standard of quality across all tasks
  • Ability to form productive relationships at all levels
  • Forward thinking, seeking efficiencies and improvements in activities

Personal Characteristics:

  • Able to work under pressure and to deal with multiple tasks efficiently and to tight deadlines
  • Works effectively as a team to develop junior team members
  • You will "take ownership" of the responsibilities allocated to you

Qualifications:

  • Qualified Accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA)

Job Offer

  • Base £55,000 to £65,000
